Autumn in Iceland

I have some very exciting news:

I have been offered a one-month residency at Ós Residency, Icelandic Textile Centre, Blonduos, in the northwest of the country.

The residency will allow me to expand both the aesthetic and technical boundaries of my weaving through immersing myself in the dramatic Icelandic landscape, and through working in a studio environment alongside a culturally diverse group of other international makers – sharing creative and technical knowledge.

I will be one of 12 international artists who will be spending time together at the Textile Centre in September 2024.

I aim to:

•          Develop a new body of work in response to the unique Icelandic landscape.

•          Develop a more experimental, expressive approach to my weaving practice.

•          Develop lasting and meaningful connections within the international weaving community.

I will have the wonderful and unique opportunity to work in this beautiful weaving studio, working on a counter marche loom (which will be new to me!).

I will keep a blog of my time in Iceland and the adventures I have, in this dynamic, inspiring country.
